NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Three teenagers are in police custody after allegedly luring a 44-year-old man back to a hotel in New Orleans East and robbing him at gunpoint.
NOPD officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at Days Inn on South I-10 Service Road around 1:15 p.m. on April 8. According to NOPD, the officers found two of the suspects, 18-year-old Malik Hodges and a 16-year-old girl, still inside the room. The third suspect, 20-year-old Ebin Rousell, was also arrested at the hotel.
The 16-year-old girl's name is being withheld because she is a juvenile.
The victim, a 44-year-old man, met the 16-year-old girl at a nearby gas station earlier in the day and agreed to meet up with her at the motel according to NOPD. The victim told police that after he met up with the 16-year-old girl Hodges knocked on the door of the room. Hodges then allegedly pulled out a gun and demanded money.
The 44-year-old man told police he gave Hodges all of the money he had and left the room while Hodges followed him out at gunpoint.
Rousell then walked up to Hodges and congratulated him on the robbery after they went outside according to the victim.
Police said the victim positively identified all three of the people involved and officers found the stolen money and a gun inside the hotel room.
Police booked Hodges and Rousell into Central Lock-Up. The 16-year-old female was transported to the Juvenile Division to be processed.
