RACELAND, LA (WVUE) - Lafourche Parish deputies arrest a fugitive wanted on multiple charges.
According to Sheriff Craig Webre, deputies were called to a disturbance at a home on St. Ann Street in Raceland the evening of April 16. When they got there, deputies say one of the people involved was Cordale Richard, who had several outstanding warrants stemming from several incidents.
As deputies arrived at the home, they say Richard exited the back door, but more deputies were waiting behind the home and took him into custody.
As deputies tried to put Richard in the rear of a patrol unit, they say he began resisting violently, and fighting with the deputies.
He was eventually booked on the outstanding warrants for three counts of contempt of court, two counts of simple battery, purse snatching (with force), and entering/remaining after being forbidden.
In addition, deputies charged Richard with resisting arrest with force or violence and battery of a police officer. His bond is set at $14,300, and he also owes $902.50 in fines and costs per the contempt warrants.
