City of N.O. scraps negotiations to overhaul Piazza d'Italia
NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The City of New Orleans needs to come up with a new plan to overhaul the Central Business District's Piazza d'Italia area.
According to our partners at Nola.com|The Times-Picayune, the city's negotiations with a Hard Rock hotel developer have been scrapped. The city's property development arm reports the developer failed to submit requested documents and plans in a timely manner.
The city is promising to do due diligence to attract a worthy development. "In the meantime, this property will continue to operate as parking lots, generating revenue for CSDC and the city," said Canal Street Development Corp.'s executive director Cindy Connick.
