Thibodaux Police: Robbery investigation uncovers drugs, weapons

LAFOURCHE PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Thibodaux Police say an arrest warrant for three people in connection with a robbery investigation took a turn while police served a search warrant Friday. The officers reportedly found weapons and narcotics.

The investigation started after an incident on May 10. Police say Robert Silverii drove Junior Benoit to the victim's home in the 1100 block of Canal Boulevard. Benoit believed the victim had his cellphone. Police say Benoit approached the victim and knocked him unconscious. Police say Bailea Starling, Silveri and Benoit's roommate were all present at the time of the attack. When the victim regained consciousness, he discovered his keys and wallet were missing.

Thibodaux investigators got a search warrant for 123 Ellington Drive in connection with the robbery. While conducting the search on May 13, police say they found the victim's keys, as well as methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia a .40-caliber pistol and other firearms and illegal narcotics.

Junior Benoit, 49, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and simple robbery. He was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on $110,000 bond.

Bailea Starling,23, was arrested for simple robbery. She was released from the Lafourche Parish Detention Center after posting her $10,000 bond.

Robert Silverii,48, was arrested for possession of heroin, possession of steroids, possession of Valium, possession of xanax, possession of amphetamine, possession of legend drug without prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal carrying of weapon in the presence of a CDS. He was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on $70,500 bond.
