NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Another oil-dependent business predicts a big layoff in south Louisiana because of the downturn.
In its notification to the Louisiana Workforce Commission, oilfield fabricator Danos and Curole warned the state it will lay off about 80 workers from its Morgan City facility in July.
The company says its Danos and Curole Marine Contractors' Fabrication Division isn't generating enough business to support operations at current levels at its Amelia fabrication yard.
The layoffs will occur between July 13 and 27.
Earlier this month, Freeport McMoran Oil and Gas announced it would lay off 32 workers at two of its New Orleans Divisions this summer.
Offshore Specialty Fabricators in Houma plans to lay off 67 employees starting in July.
