NOPD investigating two carjackings, armed robbery

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police are investigating two Thursday night carjackings and an armed robbery

The first incident occurred just after 11 p.m. in the 1600 block of Franklin Avenue.

A 30-year-old man was sitting in the backseat of his car when a suspect, described as an armed black male, opened the front door of the car and pointed a gun at the victim.

He demanded the man get out of the car. When he did, the gunman and another woman got in his car and drove off.

The second incident occurred at 11:50 p.m. in the 2100 block of Magazine Street.

The victim, a 68-year-old man, was approached by a suspect, described as an armed black man as he was getting out of his car.

The suspect demanded the vehicle and fled the scene in the victim's 2003 Silver Jeep Liberty.

The third incident occurred just before midnight near the intersection of Zimple and Dante Streets.

The victim, a 25-year-old man, was approached by two suspects, described as black men, while he sat in his vehicle.

The suspects demanded the victim's money and car.

The victim complied and the thieves fled the scene.
