Woman carjacked at Lower Garden District gas station

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A woman pumping gas along a busy stretch of Magazine Street was carjacked Thursday night.

The incident happened at 11:45 p.m. at Magazine and Jackson Avenue.

The owner of the Shell gas station where the carjacking took place said a customer pulled up to a pump and went inside to pay. She went back outside and began to pump the gas when an armed man came walking up from Magazine Street.

Surveillance video shows the gunman approaching the woman. Police said he demanded her keys while armed with a short-barrel blackgun. He then gets into her 2003 silver Jeep Liberty bearing Louisiana license plate # ZZS995 and drives off.
