Lee Circle cyclist among three Thursday armed robbery victims

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police are investigating three Thursday armed robberies including a cyclist who was robbed while riding his bike at Lee Circle, according to initial police reports.

The first incident occurred just after midnight near the intersection of Short and Burthe Streets.

The victim, a 22-year-old man, was approached from the rear by a suspect who demanded money. The suspect is described as a black man armed with a semi-automatic pistol.

The victim dropped his phone and wallet and the suspect fled with the phone and debit card from the wallet.

The second incident occurred at 2:23 a.m. near the intersection of Governor Nicholls and North Villere Streets.

The victim, a 37-year-old man, was approached by two suspects, described as black men.

Both suspects put a gun to the back of the victim's head and demanded his belongings.

The victim complied and the perpetrators fled.

The third reported incident occurred at 8:16 a.m. at Lee Circle at Andrew Higgins Drive.

The victim, a 55-year-old man, was riding his bike when he was approached by a suspect, described as a black man.

The suspect pulled a gun and demanded the victim's bike and money.

The victim complied and the subject fled on the victim's bike towards Magazine Street.
