Coast Guard dispatched after boat catches fire in Gulf

ST. BERNARD PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Two boaters were rescued after their vessel caught fire in the Gulf of Mexico.

According to the Coast Guard, a may day call came in from the boat on the morning of June 18. A rescue helicopter was dispatched, but a civilian boat arrived first and rescued the two people onboard.

The fire took place near Half Moon Island.

No details were available on how or when the fire started. No injuries were reported.

This is not a good day. Came to rescue
