Orleans Parish Sheriff to host job fair

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office will host a job fair to find deputies.

The sheriff's office said it has lowered the minimum age for for applicants from 21 to 20 years of age. Applicants must also have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited high school, a clean criminal record and have the ability to complete a P.O.S.T. correctional course and academy.

Applicants are asked to bring to the job fair a valid state-issued identification card, Social Security card, birth certificate and a high school or greater diploma.

The OPSO job fair will be at the Orleans Justice Center, 2800 Perdido Street,  on Tuesday, June 28, from 4-8 p.m.
