Washington Parish domestic violence suspect arrested in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A man wanted on domestic violence charges in Washington Parish was arrested in New Orleans last month.
Washington Parish deputies said James Earl Magee, 45, of Walthall County, MS, has been on a wanted list since February 2016 for aggravated assault, domestic violence; aggravated assault with a firearm; convicted felon in possession of a firearm; felony criminal damage (2 counts); burglary of a vehicle; and theft.
Investigators in Washington Parish entered Magee's name into a national database of wanted suspects, and he was located and arrested in New Orleans, then transported back to Washington Parish on June 28.
His bond is set at $112,550.
"Domestic violence is a serious crime and we will always vigorously pursue a domestic violence offender and do all we can to assist victims," Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal said in a statement. "If anyone is a victim of domestic violence, the Sheriff's Office will assist you in getting the help you need. We have a victim's rights advocate on staff and she is available to advise you and assist you in obtaining a protective order."
