NOPD graduates 27 from officer training program

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department today graduated 27 officers from program officers leadership skills at all levels of the department.

Leadership in Police Organizations (LPO) is an intensive, three-week program developed by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) to make "every officer a leader."

This is the eighth LPO class completed since NOPD began providing the training in 2012.

To date, the Department has trained over 200 officers. Another 14 officers are LPO-certified instructors and have been approved by the IACP to teach the LPO program.
