NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The U. S. attorney's office is asking for a delay in sentencing Walter Reed.
Reed, a former St. Tammany and Washington parish district attorney was convicted in May on several counts of corruption.
His son Steven Reed was also convicted.
Prosecutors filed documents yesterday asking for the sentencing date to be pushed back to no earlier than December.
The delay was requested because of post-trial motions by the defense and additional litigation in the case.
Reed's sentencing is currently scheduled for September 15.
