Bank robber pleads guilty in Metairie bank robbery
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A New Orleans man pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges that he brandished a gun during a bank robbery.
U.S. Attorney Kenneth Polite said that London Carter, 24, guarded the door of a Capitol One bank in Metairie during a robbery on August 26, 2011. While at the door, court documents said that Carter pointed a semi-automatic pistol at various customers in the bank.
Carter now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of seven years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison. He will have to pay a $250,000 fine and serve up to 5 years supervised release following any prison time.
U.S. District Judge Sarah S. Vance set sentencing for Dec. 7.
