Four people injured in separate New Orleans shootings

New Orleans - New Orleans police say four people were shot in two separate incidents since 10 p.m. Thursday night.

Someone shot a woman in the 8500 block of North I-10 Service Rd. Friday morning around 5 a.m. The area is in eastern New Orleans.

An initial police report said the victim was lying in her bed when ten shots were fired through her door. The victim sustained several gunshot wounds and taken to a hospital. She is in stable condition.

Around 10:12 p.m. on Thursday, someone shot a 23-year-old man in the leg near the intersection of Kent Dr. and Gen. Meyer Ave. in Algiers.

Officers say the man was walking when someone in a black vehicle started firing at him. He was taken to a Jefferson Parish hospital when he realized he was shot.

The NOPD later learned another 23-year-old man and a 26-year-old man were also shot in the same area. They were taken to a hospital in New Orleans.

The investigation into both shootings is ongoing.

A dozen people have been shot in New Orleans since Wednesday evening. Four of them died from their injuries.
