NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - There seems to be a festival for just about anything these days and you can now include an event featuring fried chicken to that list.

The inaugural Fried Chicken Festival invites food lovers to dine while also helping give back to the community.

In addition to all sorts of fried foul, there is a formidable music lineup.

The fried chicken festival presented by Raising Cane's includes Sweet Crude, John Boutte, Tank and the Bangas, the Brass-a-Holics and DJ Mannie Fresh.

The festival is set for Sunday from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m., at Lafayette Square in the CBD.

Fried chicken fest is free and will include events such as the Fried Chicken Tenders Eating contest and the Best Fried Chicken contest, which will be judged by local and national food writers, bloggers and critics.

Also, the event will feature a 10-foot one love wall where festival attendees will be encouraged to share a message of love and encouragement as well as what they love about fried chicken and the festival.
