NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The man accused of killing a 23-year-old girl in a May Lamborghini crash entered a not guilty plea in court today.

Jason Adams appeared before a judge today to plead not guilty to a charge of vehicular homicide in the death of Kristin Lirette.

The last time he appeared in court, Adams was in a wheelchair, suffering from injuries sustained in the crash.

Thursday he walked into the courtroom with his wife his side.

Police say Adams was legally drunk at the time of the crash and was speeding when he hit a flood wall on Tchoupitoulas Street.

Lirette died at the scene. Her family later told us she and Adams were acquaintances and Adams was giving her a ride home from work.

Adams attorney has previously said the 30-year-old wanted to take responsibly for his actions and that he was devastated by Lirette's death.

Adams will be back in court October 27th for a motions hearing.
