Man who showed gun during argument wanted by police

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Officers with the New Orleans Police Department are looking for Gerard Renfroe after he allegedly displayed a gun during an argument with his girlfriend's relative.

Police say it happened September 29, 2016 in the 4200 block of America Street.

Investigators say Renfroe and his girlfriend were arguing and she went inside in an effort to end the fight. Her relative says a few minutes later he heard glass breaking and a window being smashed. Police say the relative went outside and confronted Renfroe. The victim told police that's when Renfroe lifted his shirt and showed a gun in his waistband.

Police say Renfroe is wanted for aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and simple criminal damage. Renfroe is currently on parole for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

If you know where police can find Renfroe, you're asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111. You don't have to give your name and you could be eligible for a cash reward.
