(WVUE) - Mild mornings with patchy fog will close out the week as humidity starts to gradually increase. The afternoons will be very warm with temperatures running near records in the mid to upper 80s. A few locations may briefly reach the 90-degree mark as well.

This weekend, there could be a couple of showers as a weak disturbance passes, but most of the area will stay dry. Humidity will rise and so will temperatures, so plan on it feeling even hotter.

Next week, the heat continues with many spots reaching or exceeding the 90-degree mark. This will likely top some records. Looking toward the end of next week, cooler air will finally return, bringing a more fall-like feel.

In the tropics, Nicole is a very strong hurricane and will strike Bermuda today before heading out to sea. Elsewhere tropical development is not expected.
