Escaped inmate surrenders to Orleans sheriff's deputies

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - An Orleans Parish sheriff's inmate who escaped from municipal court Wednesday has surrendered.

Terrance Jacques, 25, surrendered to OPSO deputies at noon.

Jacques was taken into custody outside the Orleans Justice Center and was rebooked on a charge of simple escape.

In addition to a municipal attachment, Jacques was originally charged with illegal possession of stolen property and criminal trespass.

A Sheriff's Office investigation of the incident is ongoing.
