Algiers shooting leaves 6-month-old baby in 'serious' condition

ALGIERS, LA (WVUE) - A shooting leaves a six-month-old baby in serious condition this morning.

A man was also killed and another injured in a Thursday night triple shooting in Algiers.

It happened at the entrance of the Cypress Run apartments at 9 p.m.

New Orleans police say two men were in their car along with the infant when they were shot.

No word on how many gunmen were involved.

One of the men, a 26-year-old, was dead by the time EMS arrived on the scene, the other victim, also a 26-year-old man, and the 6-month-old baby boy were taken to a nearby hospital.

New Orleans Police Chief Michael Harrison was here and he had some bold words for whoever pulled the trigger or triggers last night.

As of one 1 a.m. the six-month-old boy remained in serious condition.

Police are hoping the shooting of a baby would compel anyone with information on the shooting to come forward.
