(WVUE) - A problem with a cable line caused major issues as hundreds of people lined up for early voting in Kenner.
Registrar of Voters Dennis DiMarco says voters can still cast their ballots but it will take longer.
The problem only affects the Kenner officer in Rivertown.
The cable problem will force election officials to manually count the votes later.
"I went out there immediately and I've been told that anytime now and that was 9 a.m. So I apologize to the people there," DiMarco said. "It's not passing the buck. It has nothing to do with my office. Kenner or our computers."
Dimarco says he hopes to have the Kenner problem fixed soon.
Meanwhile, he's getting ready to head to the Westbank Expressway near Barataria. Where there are long lines.
One voter passed out while waiting in line.
There was no word on the condition of that person.
