Driver carjacked after being rear-ended

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A 20-year old man was rear-ended yesterday afternoon, but it turns out that the damage to his car was the least of his troubles. The New Orleans Police Department says the man was driving in the in the 2600 block of Gentilly Boulevard near Dillard University when he was hit from behind.  The victim told police that when he exited his car, he was beaten by the occupants of the car that hit him, a silver four-door Suzuki SUV,

While the victim was down on the ground, several of the suspects then jumped into his car and drove off.  All of this happened in broad daylight around 4:30 Wednesday afternoon.

The NOPD is looking for help in locating the stolen vehicle.  The car is described as a black 2010 Dodge Challenger with Louisiana license plate number XUU409. It will have damage to the rear.  Police released a photo of a similar make and model.
