(WVUE) - "Congratulations, and welcome to the New Orleans Police Department."
With those words from Superintendent Michael Harrison, 35 recruits became police officers during a ceremony at the Landry-Walker High School auditorium Friday morning.
"And always, always remember: right is right, even if no one is doing it," Harrison admonished the new officers. "And wrong is wrong, even if everyone is doing it."
These new officers have been through 26 weeks of training, and will now be assigned to experienced officers for another 16 weeks of field training.
