Happening Today: Costume shop helps with last-minute decisions

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Kids and adults are getting ready to dress up for tonight's Halloween celebration and trick or treating.

Nikki's Costume Store on Chartres Street in the French Quarter and is open 24 hours a day for those still searching for a last-minute costume idea.

They have everything from full costumes to accessories, even fake blood and makeup for those of you who plan to get really creative this year.

While they're open today especially for Halloween, they're open all year and it's perfect for anyone looking for a Batman costume any time of the year.

Nikki runs the shop here and has for several years so you probably won't run into someone who knows more about what costumes are hot and not.

As children get ready to hit the streets this Halloween night, the New Orleans Police Department has a reminder for those who plan on dressing up.

The NOPD asks people to keep their clown costumes at home tonight.

It comes in response to creepy clown sightings provoking fear around the country recently.

Police Superintendent Michael Harrison also asked people to not play pranks which could lead to an unnecessary police dispatch.
