COVINGTON, LA (WVUE) - A jury finds a Slidell man guilty on charges he endangered his 17-month-old daughter in 2014 by allowing people to cook crack and use it in her presence.

Larry Bickham, 60, was found guilty last Friday of second-degree cruelty to a juvenile and simple cruelty to a juvenile for allowing the victim to be present during the manufacturing, distribution, or purchasing of cocaine.

The investigation into Bickham started after the child tested positive for cocaine during a hospital stay in May of 2014.  A caregiver rushed the child to the hospital after she appeared to have a seizure.

Bickham, who has other felony convictions, faces up to life in prison if sentenced as a habitual offender.

Sentencing in the case is set for Jan. 20.
