Girl escapes from human trafficker, suspect arrested

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The NOPD arrested a suspect wanted for human trafficking and aggravated assault.

Michael Young, 34, was arrested Monday night.

On November 18, the victim told police that 34-year-old Michael Young forced her at gunpoint to come to New Orleans from San Antonio.

The victim said she was forced to solicit for prostitution on Bourbon Street and other areas. She told police Young threatened to shoot her when she refused to walk on Tulane Avenue.

The victim escaped in the 700 block of Bourbon Street on November 24.

Eighth District Detectives and local FBI agents identified Young as the perpetrator.
