NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The NOPD is asking for the public's help in locating a person of interest in a shooting that took place Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 28).

At 12:06 p.m., Third District officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 6100 block of Franklin Avenue.

When they arrived they learned that an unidentified male was the target of the shooting, and when he walked out of the store, two unknown males approached him from the north side of the store parking lot.

The intended target saw the two males and went back into the store as the suspects began firing. The targeted individual was captured on video removing a concealed handgun from his right ankle area, but he did not return fire. He was not hit by gunfire, but a bystander was shot twice and taken to the hospital.
