NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A lot of people who booked stays at hotels in late 2016 have a new hack attack to worry about.
The InterContinental Hotels Group announced April 19 a pattern of unauthorized charges occurring on payment cards used by their customers after the cards were legitimately used at their locations. The group's brand includes Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites and more.
The hack attack victims were customers between September 29 and December 29 of 2016. Investigators suspect hackers used malware to gain access to payment card data.
