(WVUE) - Plan for a warm and muggy day with highs in the mid-80s. Clouds increased overnight and will likely hang around through the day.
As a strong storm system is developing to the east. Windy conditions will prevail Friday and Saturday.
Sustained winds 12 to 20 mph and wind gusts over 30 mph will be prevalent both days.
There is a slim chance for a sprinkle Friday and a 20 percent chance for a shower or storm Saturday. The best chance for widespread rain comes on Sunday as the storm system enters the area.
Scattered rain will develop during the afternoon, then there is the possibility of strong to severe storms during the evening and overnight hours.
Drier and slightly cooler air will follow the storms for a nice start to next week.
Another storm system will approach by the middle of next week with a good chance of rain on Wednesday.
It is possible some rain could even last into Thursday.
