NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police are investigating two separate shootings that left two people dead and multiple people injured.
According to police, five men and one woman were shot near the intersection of Forstall and Burgundy Streets, just before 8 p.m. Saturday. One of the male victims died as a result of the shooting. Police say the ages of the remaining victims range from 24-30 years and they are recovering in a nearby hospital from non-life threatening injuries.
Officers were also called to a shooting in the 3300 block of General Myers in Algiers. Police say that the victim, identified as a 29-year-old man, was shot multiple times and died on the scene.
