Jail trustee who walked off from work assignment captured

WASHINGTON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - The Washington Parish Sheriff's Office says a jail trustee that walked off of a work assignment at the Washington Parish Jail Friday has been captured.

According to deputies, 30-year-old Timothy John Williams was captured in Bogalusa Saturday night following a daylong search.

Around 11 p.m., deputies went to a home on Michigan Avenue where they found Williams inside. After a brief struggle, deputies were able to subdue and arrest Williams.

Williams has been transported back to the Washington Parish Jail.

"This was a very long day for our officers who searched diligently until Williams was captured," says Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal. "I am so grateful that the search and capture ended the way it should have; namely, Williams went back to jail and our officers went home to their families. I am so appreciative of the fine work of our officers and am so fortunate to have the privilege of working with them on the daily basis."
