Report: John Mayer cancels New Orleans concert because of surgery

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - John Mayer was forced to cancel a concert in New Orleans because of an emergency appendectomy, according to a report from Variety.
He was scheduled to play at the Smoothie King Center at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
"Early this morning, Tuesday, December 5th, John Mayer was admitted into the hospital for emergency appendectomy forcing the Dead & Company December 5th concert in New Orleans to be postponed," a statement given to Variety said.
There is no word on his condition or whether the concert will be rescheduled.
