VIDEO: Robbers chase Walmart employee with hammer, snatch merchandise

SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) - Slidell Police investigated a shoplifting incident where two suspects, armed with hammers, chased and intimidated a store employee, busted open glass electronics cases, and stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise.

Slidell Police were called to Walmart at 39142 Natchez Dr. on Monday after two suspects ran out of the store with nearly $10,000 worth of Apple iPads, Apple TV's, and PlayStation 4 gaming consoles.

The two suspects armed themselves with hammers, and began shattering glass cases, which were locked and contained expensive electronics.

A Walmart employee approached the suspects, who were described to be described to be two black males in their 20's or 30's.

The employee was chased back and intimidated by one of the suspects, who was holding hammers in both of his hands. The two suspects loaded up the merchandise and fled the store, where a getaway car waiting in the parking lot.

The car was described to be a dark-colored Kia or Hyundai.
