SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) - The Slidell Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that left a 60-year-old man dead Friday.

Police responded to a crash at the intersection of Front Street and Fremaux Avenue just after 4:30 p.m. It was reported that a white Chevrolet pickup truck crashed into the Furniture Consignment Shop located at 126 Fremaux Avenue.

According to witnesses, the truck was traveling on Fremaux Ave. when the vehicle slowly veered to the right and crashed into the building. Prior to the crash, witnesses say the driver, later identified as Glynn Cousin of Picayune, Mississippi appeared to be in distress.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Cousin unresponsive. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators believe that Cousin had a medical issue while driving and passed away prior to the crash.

There were no other injuries reported in the crash.
