NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A Confederate monument on Jefferson Davis Parkway was vandalized with paint and a burned tire, according to a report by our partners NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune.
Vandals spray-painted the monument dedicated to soldier Charles Didier Dreux on Saturday.
The monument stands on Jefferson Davis Parkway across Canal Street from the former site of the Jefferson Davis monument.
Although the Jefferson Davis monument was removed in spring 2017 as part of an effort to remove four Confederate monuments approved by the City Council, the Dreux monument was not targeted in that removal process, according to the report.
