Teen crashes into Thibodaux police car, chase ensues

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A teenager was charged after she crashed into a Thibodaux Police car and led them on a vehicle chase.

According to the report, around 2:30 p.m. Thursday  police were dispatched to a fight with multiple people at the intersection of Bradford Street and Henderson Street.

When police arrived to the scene, a 2007 Infinity crossed the center line where West 10th Street merges into Caroline Avenue.

The Infinity struck the police unit, then sped off, according to the report.

A vehicle pursuit ensued and eventually ended at an apartment complex in the 1700 Block of Oakely Avenue.

The driver, Breion James, 18, was placed under arrest. There were five occupants in the car with James, all ranging from 18 to 20-years-old.

The vehicle's license plate had envelopes duck taped over the license plate preventing the license plate from being read. No charges could be filed against the occupants, as they were not driving the vehicle.

James was charged for hit-and-run, crossing the center line, failure to display license plate, and flight from an officer.
