NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -
Hands in the air for a coconut! The Krewe of Zulu will roll on Fat Tuesday for 8 a.m.
Zulu will take the uptown route starting on South Claiborne and Jackson Avenue. It will head to St. Charles, turn on Canal, then Basin and end on Orleans and Broad.
Some 29 floats and more than 100 units traditionally appear in the procession.
Rex, the oldest parading carnival organization will start at 10 a.m.
The parade will start on S. Claiborne and Napoleon, head down St. Charles and end on Canal and S. Peters. The 2018 theme, L'ANCIENNE NOUVELLE-ORLEANS.
Elks Orleanians and Crescent City Truck Parades will follow behind.
In Metairie, the 46th annual Krewe of Argus will start for 10 am from Clearview Shopping center.
Argus will pull off from El Dorado Street next to Clearview Shopping Center. The parade will follow along to Veterans Boulevard, on to Severn and turn back on Vets. From there, Argus will turn on Bonnabel before ending on Veterans and Martin Behrman. With 600 riders, the theme this year is Argus Under The Big Top."
The Elks Krewe of Jeffersonians and the Krewe of Jefferson to follow.
In Covington, parade goers can check out the Krewe of Lyra for 10 a.m.
