17-year-old escapee from Monroe captured in Algiers

ALGIERS, LA (WVUE) - State police and the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force arrested a 17-year-old who escaped from a juvenile jail in Monroe.

Teondre Wright was in an apartment complex in Algiers when police took him into custody on Monday.

He was placed under arrest and booked into the Orleans Justice Center as a fugitive from Ouachita Parish.

Wright and three others escaped from the Swanson Center for Youth on Jan. 2. The three others were apprehended in the Monroe area a short time later.

Wright was being held on several charges, including carjacking and armed robbery.
