Coast Guard rescues 3, medevacs diabetic
NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The Coast Guard medevaced a diabetic man and two others from a disabled vessel near New Orleans, Monday.
According to the report, watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a phone call from a man stating that his 18-foot Boston Whaler had become disabled with three people aboard, including a diabetic who did not have any medication.
Watchstanders directed the launch of an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans, who medevaced the survivors, according to the Coast Guard.
The survivors were transferred to University Hospital in New Orleans.
