Southeastern baseball cruises past Alcorn State, 7-1

(WVUE) - Southeastern bounced back from a Sunday loss with a controlling 7-1 victory Tuesday over Alcorn State. The Lions jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first three frames and never looked back, improving to 3-1 on the season.

Mike Taylor got the scoring started with the lone home run on the night and batted 3-for-3 with 2 RBI. Kade Granier pitched 6 innings, allowing 4 hits and striking out 9 batters.

SLU is back in action Wednesday against #20 UL-Lafayette, a game that will start a stretch of 5 straight outings against ranked teams as #25 UConn comes to town for a series, followed by #15 LSU.
