NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A suspect in a Mardi Gras day shooting near a parade route has surrendered to police.

Kentrell Howard, 17, faces two counts of principle to attempted murder.

The NOPD previously released an image of three suspects wanted in connection with the double shooting in the 700 block of Union Street.

At about 3:17 p.m., a fight reportedly occurred among a group of approximately 10 individuals on Union Street near Carondelet Street. One man in the group allegedly produced a handgun and fired into the group, striking one victim in the leg and a second victim in the head. Both victims were transported to an area hospital by EMS.
