NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The NOPD is searching for a 9-week-old pit bull named Angel who was taken from her owner during an armed robbery that occurred on February 25.

At about 11:45 p.m., the victim was walking his dog in the 2000 block of Tulane Avenue when he was approached from behind by a black male riding a dark-colored bicycle with black rims. The suspect asked the victim if he could buy his dog. The victim said his dog is not for sale and continued walking. The suspect then reportedly lifted his shirt to display a gun and took the dog. The suspect then fled on South Roman street toward Gravier Street, then in an unknown direction.

The victim told police he didn't chase the subject because the subject was armed and the victim was afraid of being shot.

Police released the following description: "The perpetrator is a described as being a black male, 6'1" with a slim build, large lips and medium-length dreadlocks. The suspect is believed to be in his early 20s."
