ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Most of the time, the job for deputies and firefighters is just about helping and protecting people in the community. That was not the case Sunday morning when deputies and firefighters responded to an unusual report.
If you ask St. John the Baptist Firefighters, saving a dog who was stuck in a fence was "all in a doggone day's work."
Deputies responded to a LaPlace residence in reference to the dog struggling to break free from the fence.
Shortly after firefighters arrived, the team of first responders worked together to rescue the dog.
According to the post on the St. John The Baptist Facebook page, first responders comforted the animal as the Jaws of Life was used to spread the bars. In a few seconds, the dog was free, uninjured.
The family was grateful to the team for rescuing their pup.
"Helping and protecting ALL - people and animals alike - in our community is a priority for our local first responders," the post read.
