NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - History may have been made Wednesday night at the annual Saintsations auditions.
Jesse Hernandez was the only male among 50 women auditioning for the coveted spot on the team.
According to our partners NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune, Hernandez is a dancer who lives in Maurice.
According to the report, New Orleans Saints enthusiast William Taylor of Thibodaux, who identifies himself as the "unofficial Saints dance team historian," said that from 1967 to 1996, male and female acrobatic cheerleaders performed on the New Orleans Saints sidelines.
Taylor told our partners that to his knowledge there has never been a male member of the Saintsations.
During the finals it was evident that Hernandez could dance, but did he do enough to secure his spot in black and gold royalty?
