Proposed bill could make students with low ACT scores eligible for TOPS

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Students with lower ACT scores could be eligible for TOPS scholarships under a plan advancing in the state legislature.
A House committee unanimously passed the "TOPS second chance" bill.
The bill would make students eligible for TOPS if they finish high school with a GPA of at least 2.5 and ACT score of at least a 17.
Students would have to maintain a college GPA of at least a 3.2
The measure heads to the House.
