GREENSBURG, LA (WVUE) - Louisiana State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Greensburg woman.
The crash happened at approximately 5 p.m. Saturday on LA 43 near Brecheen Lane.
According to investigators, 60-year-old Sylvia Wright was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe northwest on LA 43 and entered a curve in the road. For reasons unknown, Wright traveled off of the right side of the roadway, over-corrected left and then back to the right. After traveling off of the roadway to the right, the vehicle began rotating to the right and overturned several times before striking a tree and coming to a rest on its roof.
State Police say that despite being properly restrained, Wright suffered severe injuries in the crash. She was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center where she later died.
Investigators do not suspect alcohol to have played a part in the crash.
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
