A $566 million fiscal plan for coastal restoration and storm protection in 2019 was approved Friday by the Louisiana Senate.
The coastal master plan outlines projects over a 50-year-planning horizon, but the state expects to spend nearly $3 billion over the next three years.
The spending includes more than $31 million dollars for marsh creation in Jefferson Parish and another $30 million for levee protection in the Jean Lafitte area.
St. Bernard Parish will also receive $4 million for levee protection.
