NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The. St. Tammany Parish Coroner has identified a missing swimmer whose body was recovered from Lake Ponchartrain Sunday afternoon.
St. Tammany Parish Coroner Dr. Charles Preston has identified the swimmer as Luis Landaverde, who turned 23 last month.
According to Preston, Landaverde lived in Tickfaw.
Preston said an autopsy will be performed later Monday.
Deputies were called by Fontainebleau State Park rangers Sunday around 5 p.m. Landaverde was reported missing earlier in the day.
According to police, Landaverde was last seen in the water, just south of the Fontainebleau State Park Fishing Pier.
STPSO Marine units recovered his body in seven feet of water, located 500 yards west of the pier.
