St. John deputies investigating homicide in LaPlace

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The St. John Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide.

According to detectives, Cory Lyntrell Anderson's body was found early Sunday morning  in the 1300 block of Yorktowne Drive in LaPlace.

According to the report, Anderson had been shot.

Around 3 a.m. deputies were called to the scene in reference to a an aggravated battery by shooting.

Deputies said they found Anderson laying in the grass near the street with a gunshot wound to the right shoulder.

Deputies also discovered a motorcycle on the ground near the body, according to the report.

Officers and emergency attempted to revive Anderson, but he was unresponsive.
